Common Questions

Ofcourse! But that won’t be from the first day. When you submit an idea, we will research if it has a sales potential. If yes, the development can take up several months before it gets to “production” and sales.

The goal is to produce it as local as possible. So when somebody buys the product somewhere in Canada, we will reach out to a partner in the neighbourhood to make the product. We prefer to give everyone the power of creation & therefore we will first reach out to small businesses or people who own 3D printer, CNC machinery & skill to produce.

  1. Contact us
  2. We review your idea
  3. We collaborate with you to make it a profitable product
  4. We make a sales page where we refer to you as the inventor
  5. You get a percentage as discussed upfront
  6. We share the joy of giving everyone the power of creation

Sure! But from the time we decided to go along with your idea, the idea becomes property of Craftermatch. This means, you can stop the collaboration, and we will not contact you anymore and will not use your name, nor pictures anymore. This doesn’t mean we will stop working on the product as this became our property. Also your agreement to our terms & conditions is still active, which means you can’t go to other partners with the idea.

No, not without you approving. We will never share adress, phone number or other information. For our progress posts, we would like to use your name & the city or state you live in, but only if you agree.

Craftermatch is based in Belgium, but operates worldwide. The location you live is not important as long as you’re passionate about you’re idea!

That depends! Development of a product can take weeks, or months. Also we won’t transfer you money everytime somebody buys a product. We will discuss accordingly with you once the product is ready for sale.

Don’t worry, once you will be affected by any change, we will inform you by e-mail. It suffices to e-mail back that you agree.

How Craftermatch Functions:

Product ideas are submitted by through a form, or by e-mail when documents want to be added. By contacting us, you agree to keep all information disclosed to you on this website and all ideas submitted by you confidential and agree not to disclose such information and ideas outside the co-workers of craftermatch. (See also “Confidentiality” section below). All Product Ideas are viewable by all members of Craftermatch’ staff.

Once a Product Idea submission satisfies certain internally discussed required elements & potential, Craftermatch shall choose in its sole discretion if the Product Idea becomes a candidate for selection for development and/or commercialization, production and sale

Once your idea is selected for further development, Craftermatch will contact you and aim to sit together (it being either virtually or physically) if you agree and discuss the idea further. At this stage, we discuss how much you want to be involved in the design process.

Every now & then we will share progress & ask for feedback. Once prototypes are available, you will either be contacted to come and take a look, or either we will send you one by mail.

Once a product is ready for production, we will develop a sales page on the Craftermatch site, where people can buy it. Idealy, yet not solely, the product will be produced by DIY people around the world, as close as possible to the buyer. This will eliminate the transport cost & so we avoid mass production.

However, when a product shows its potential to become serial produce, Craftermatch will consider to start serial production, either with help of crowdfunding, investors or from own sources.

Craftermatch will reach out in the beginning to discuss a percentage of the sales you will earn with each sale. Depending on the amount of sales, the transfer of money will not be made on certain periods, but rather after a predefined amount of sales. This will be written in a small contract when collaboration between Craftermatch and you is about to start.

Once you have given, or written the idea to us, it is property of Craftermatch & therefore it does not allow you to distribute the idea with other people or organizations. Nor you are allowed to further elaborate your idea alone and put it to market.

Craftermatch may, at its sole discretion and at any time, taking into consideration a variety of factors, select a Product Idea for development and/or commercialization, production and sale. If the Company rejects a Product Idea made available by an Idea Submitter to Craftermatch, we will write you whether we continue with the product development or don’t start a collaboration. In the last case, we will explicitly tell you, we do not own your idea, which gives you freedom to elaborate further with other partners or organizations.

If you’re keeping a secret, or signed an NDA with someone else, then please don’t share the information with us!

You agree to regard and preserve as confidential, all Craftermatch Confidential Information, including, but not limited to, Product Ideas and communication about it. You will treat all Confidential Information with the same degree of care that You treat your own confidential or proprietary information, but in no event less than using standards of reasonable care. In maintaining the confidentiality of Craftermatch Confidential Information hereunder, You agree that (i) you shall not, without first obtaining the written consent of Craftermatch, disclose or make available to any person, firm or enterprise, reproduce or transmit, or use for its own benefit or the benefit of others, any such Craftermatch Confidential Information, and (ii) you shall prevent disclosure to any competitor of Craftermatch (known to be such after reasonable inquiry). You shall not, without obtaining the prior written consent of Craftermatch, use Craftermatch Confidential Information for any purpose other than for use of the service and discussions between You and Craftermatch.

These terms and conditions act as a non-disclosure agreement. Once you have submitted an idea to Craftermatch, you are not allowed to disclose the idea to anyone. If you do any of the above, we have the right to take legal action against you.

Commercial Arrangements with Third Parties:

You agree that this Agreement and/or such third party companies’ actions or inactions concerning your Product Ideas do not create between you and any such third party company any type of, any type of relationship or any type of duty or obligation.
